Job description: The Center for Prevention Science, Rutgers School of Social Work, has an immediate need for a temporary, part-time Project Assistant to delivery varied administrative and scheduling support work for a grant-funded project centered on workforce development training and technical assistance to New Jersey-based substance misuse prevention coalition leaders and members. An excellent opportunity for real-world experience with grant execution, management, and service provision. Anticipate work duration through March of 2025.

Responsibilities include: With the direction and support of the faculty Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator, responsibilities will include but not be limited to: creating graphic training information materials; executing marketing and registration processes; developing and maintaining tracking systems; direct communications with potential attendees and event providers; and conducting the work towards the development of a virtual library of recorded events and training resources. This position requires 15 to 18 hours per week and requires availability within the 8:30 am – 5:00 pm business-day window. In-person hours may be required. Specific schedule will be negotiated. Minimum qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in the social work, public health, education, communications, information technology, or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience: Solid understanding of and experience with Microsoft Office software, Zoom platform, and Box storage. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Highly motivated, focused and results oriented. Strong Customer-support mindset. Sensitive to cultural diversity and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Ability to complete assignments independently on a deadline and work productively as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications: Social Media expertise; Event coordination experience; knowledge of culturally responsive approaches.

Salary/compensation: Dependent on level of education/experience

Location: 390 George St., New Brunswick, NJ 08901; remote work is possible
