Overview

Excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate to serve as an Assistant Planner in the development of land use plans for County and regional projects.  Will conduct preliminary analysis for development reviews and prepare reports on planning matters.  Will assist with planning projects involving transportation systems, industrial & residential areas, historic preservation, water supplies, wastewater, and stormwater management.  May conduct surveys, research, and analysis of pertinent planning data.  Will assist in designing and drafting planning documents that will include graphic presentations. Hunterdon County is currently working closely with the Highlands Council conducting Plan Conformance projects.    

About Hunterdon County

The Hunterdon County Planning and Land Use Department is a diverse organization consisting of the Planning Services Division including the Open Space and Farmland Preservation Programs, the Division of Geographic Information System (GIS), the County’s Cultural and Heritage Commission, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension Program.

The Division of Planning Services is responsible for the County Master Plan, the Farmland Preservation program, the Open Space Preservation program, all Subdivision and Site Plan Development Review, and the County’s Wastewater Management Plan.
