What You’ll Do:  The Advocacy Manager is a strategic and motivated leader responsible for driving Easterseals’ advocacy initiatives. They work closely with leadership to prioritize issues, engage with policymakers, and secure support for programs serving people with disabilities and special needs. This role requires strong communication skills, relationship-building with state and local officials, and a deep commitment to equality and inclusion for individuals of all abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all matters regarding government affairs.
  • Strengthen, develop, and nurture relationships with state decision-makers and elected officials, and build durable partnerships with a network of allies.
  • Organize, coordinate, and provide representation on relevant industry coalitions and committees.
  • Strategize ways to diversify our existing outreach lists and keep new audiences within the region engaged on our issues through traditional and non-traditional advocacy tactics.
  • Conduct policy research and analysis to develop and support positions as needed.
  • Develop and distribute advocacy materials, action alerts, and grassroots organizing resources, including trainings.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of work experience in politics, organizing, public policy, communications, or community outreach/relations
  • Requirements: Ability to travel throughout the state as needed, with proficiency in MS Office Suite and knowledge of constituent management and engagement software such as VoterVoice and Quorum.
  • Skills: Highly skilled in written and verbal communication, planning, time management, and relationship building, with a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and experience managing volunteers to achieve results.
