About Hudson County Division of Planning
Hudson County, NJ experienced the highest county population increase in the tri-state region, at 14% from 2010 to 2020. Uniquely positioned on the west side of the Hudson River across from Manhattan, (New York, NY), the County is the densest in the State of New Jersey. The county consists of twelve municipalities with a total of 720,000 residents and a robust business sector. The County’s Division of Planning is spearheading multiple planning initiatives and studies including the development of a new Comprehensive Plan, a Public Engagement Plan, Economic Development Plan, a West Hudson Circulation Study, and leads the County’s Vision Zero and Greenway Planning initiatives.
