SENIOR POLICY ANALYST

APPRISE has positions available for Senior Policy Analysts to conduct research on energy efficiency and energy assistance programs. Job responsibilities include research design, on-site observations and inspections, survey design and management, administrative interviews, programming and data analysis, and report writing. This position requires full time in-office work at our Princeton, NJ location. All work must be done in-office.

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a senior policy analyst is to work independently to specify and complete tasks on policy analysis and research projects. With guidance from and review by the project director. A senior policy analyst may perform the following tasks.

  • Literature Review – Use library and web resources to identify sources of information on a topic.
  • Survey Operations – Prepare survey materials, write specifications for data collection protocols, write sections of reports to describe survey findings, and prepare survey methodology memos or reports.
  • Programming and Data Analysis – Acquire or develop data files and file documentation, use computer-based software to manipulate data and develop descriptive and analytic statistics.
  • Presentations and Reports – Prepare data tables and graphics to illustrate the findings from data analysis.
  • Proposal Assistance – Prepare summaries of projects for proposals, resumes, timelines and other proposal materials.

The ideal Senior Policy Analyst candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • An advanced degree
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • 2 years of work experience 
  • Experience with data manipulation and statistical analysis with Stata or SAS
  • An interest in social programs

Salary & Location

  • Salary: $67,500 annual 
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Office work setting; in-person

APPRISE research focuses on programs that provide bill payment assistance, energy education, energy efficiency services, and renewables to low-income households; and programs that provide incentives for undertaking energy efficiency projects to residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers.
