Assistant Planner

Job Description:
ARH Associates is seeking skilled and enthusiastic planners, as well as aspiring planners, to join our growing team. We provide a variety of planning services primarily to public clients in New Jersey. Our approach carefully balances creativity, pragmatism, and community integration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, or related field (candidates currently pursuing a degree will also be considered).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with urban planning principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with GIS software is a plus.
Passion for community development and sustainability.

Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Planner, you will work closely with our team of experienced planners and project managers to support various planning projects. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with research and analysis for planning projects.
• Drafting planning documents, reports, and presentations.
• Conducting site visits and fieldwork.
• Providing support for public meetings and community engagement efforts.
• Assisting with data collection and mapping using GIS software.
• Other duties as assigned to support the planning team.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

• Occasional fieldwork with exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Frequent and prolonged computer use.
