Audible is seeking an entrepreneurial, driven, and thoughtful individual for the role of Public Policy Manager for its expanding U.S. and global business. The Public Policy Manager will play a critical role in setting and advancing Audible’s policy positions domestically and internationally. Based in Newark, the position will be a critical member of the Public Policy team to promote Audible’s disruptive, high-energy technology-driven culture, innovative audio entertainment and our purpose-driven work improving lives and strengthening communities around the world.

The Public Policy Manager will work with Public Policy colleagues, other internal stakeholders, and outside groups to collect, analyze and distribute relevant research and information on cross-cutting issues to inform our public policy positions and work with internal teams and external partners to ensure that our positions are clearly communicated and promote alignment between business priorities and public policy goals. They will also develop resources to help internal partners understand the broader public policy environment in Washington D.C., other important locations across the United States, and globally.

On an ad hoc basis, you are comfortable engaging with business organizations, government officials, and other stakeholders. You are organized, strategic, and have the ability to work easily with others. Further, you have excellent project management skills, the ability to navigate ambiguous environments, dive into details, and see the big picture. You are a builder and no task is beneath you.

As a Public Policy Manager, you will…
Contribute original research and thought leadership on emerging policy and political developments impacting Audible’s global business.
Draft concise memos, briefings, and email updates for internal Audible audiences to apprise them of policy, government, and political shifts and contextualize the implications for Audible.
Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to track and analyze emerging policy developments in the evolving digital, technology, and media policy landscapes.
Create and implement a management framework to assist in the planning, coordination, and direction of programs and daily operations of the Policy team.
Develop and support implementation of comprehensive public policy campaigns to advance Audible’s global objectives, including coalition building, thought leadership, and direct outreach.
Identify new engagement opportunities, initiatives, and events to raise Audible’s political brand equity.
Support further integration of public policy stakeholder outreach into cross-functional planning and events.
Interact professionally, develop and maintain partnership with business organizations, government officials, and other external stakeholders and influencers.
Travel domestically and internationally as required.

5 years of relevant experience in government, public policy, external affairs, program management, economic development, or equivalent experience. Candidates will be able to demonstrate their experience through work within government, companies, public affairs firms, or equivalent organizations.
Undergraduate degree in business, political science, public policy, international relations, regional studies or equivalent experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Law and/or Masters Degree in public policy, business administration, or related field.
Professional experience and relevant network in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and/or India.
Background in technology and/or digital media policy and/or government regulations.
