Overview

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the John J. Heldrich Center. The Heldrich Center seeks a postdoctoral associate specializing in computer science to work with our state longitudinal data system. Our data system includes data linked across multiple state agency partners and allows researchers to evaluate state programs and policies for those from secondary and postsecondary education to the workforce. The duration of the postdoc is for one year. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and interested in forging collaborative relationships with staff, faculty, and doctoral students. Successful candidates must have excellent and advanced computer science skills to be used in the enhancement of our relational database. A key focus for this role is to develop tool(s) to improve and expedite data extraction from the statewide database for research purposes. Through this development, data security and proper care for sensitive data is paramount.

Its core mission is to create a single place where state education, postsecondary education, employment, and workforce longitudinal data are securely stored and information made available to education and training stakeholders and the public for analysis to improve policymaking.
