The Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOL) provides many benefits to employees to acknowledge and value their contribution. Under direct supervision of a supervisory official in the New Jersey Department of Labor (NJLWD), assists in a trainee capacity performing routine tasks associated with the collection, generation, coding, analysis, and dissemination of labor market, economic, demographic, or labor-related program data in accordance with NJLWD & Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) survey guidelines. Reviews survey responses for correctness and completeness of the data submitted and will make follow-up contacts to acquire missing information and/or clarify incorrect data. Reviews assigned sample units for completeness and accuracy of contact information, solvency, and industry classification. Performs non-response contact follow-up involving telephone, fax, and/or email; does other related duties as required.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by fifteen (15) semester hour credits in economics, mathematics, or statistics, at least three (3) credits of which must have been in statistics. Applicants must submit a copy of your unofficial transcripts to verify the required credits earned. Failure to submit unofficial transcripts with your resume may result in your ineligibility.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

ADVANCEMENT: Appointees who successfully complete the 12-month training period will be eligible for advancement to the title Labor Market Analyst 4 in accordance with Civil Service Commission procedures. The inability of an employee in a trainee title to attain a level of performance warranting advancement shall be considered cause for separation
