Overview

Michael Baker International is hiring a Planning Intern with a focus on climate resiliency for our 2023 spring and summer program. Position is based in either our Hamilton or Newark, NJ office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research best practices and strategies to address impacts of climate change
Support updates of hazard mitigation plans
Perform GIS mapping and analysis
Gather data and information on climate change, natural hazards, and other relevant topics.
Draft reports and other planning documents
Assist planning and execution of stakeholder engagement and outreach

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Urban Planning at an accredited University or College
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Experience and competency in GIS preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Passionate about addressing the impacts of climate change through planning, with the ability to work in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $22 – $24 per hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
