About New Haven Preservation Trust

Formed sixty years ago, The New Haven Preservation Trust seeks to ensure that historic buildings thrive in present-day New Haven.  Committed to “advocacy, education, and collaboration,” the  Trust has had a major role through the years in protecting significant historic buildings. The Trust also helps expand historic districts and aids owners in rehabilitating structures.  An important mission is to educate the public about the city’s historic districts, and to motivate residents to become invested in preserving their neighborhoods. The Trust is a strong and persistent voice for historic preservation through its collaboration with New Haven’s City government, Yale University, and individual property owners, all of whom consistently ask the Trust’s advice and assistance in matters of planning and rehabilitation.
