VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Planner II) Requires a Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience in planning or a closely related field. (Planner III) Requires Liberal Arts Master’s degree in planning or closely related field. Bachelor’s degree with three years progressively responsible experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: (Planner II) In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience. (Planner III) In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three years of full-time equivalent experience.- Planning Technician II ($44,069 – $57,289)
The City of Chesapeake, Virginia, Planning Department is seeking a detail-oriented and responsive individual with excellent customer service skills to oversee address and street name assignment, in-take of critical development documents, and updates of public information. Additional responsibilities will include customer service, database updates, and collaboration with Planning staff and other City departments. Experience with Geographic Information Systems and knowledge of the property development process is preferred.
