Overview
Professor Xiang Liu works at the Civil Engineering Department at Rutgers University and leads the Rutgers Rail and Transit Program.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented graduate student for an hourly paid research assistant position to support critical research initiatives aimed at improving rail and public transit. This hybrid role, which includes in-person meetings in the New Brunswick area, offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to public transportation improvements under the guidance of a Professional Engineer and in collaboration with major regional transit agencies.
The successful candidate will assist in writing comprehensive reports, attending meetings to capture key discussions and summarize findings, and analyzing relevant datasets to produce insightful figures and tables (Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, which offers valuable experience in transportation research and collaboration within a dynamic academic environment.
The position is available immediately and will continue through the end of August, with the possibility of renewal based on student performance and funding availability.
