The Center for NYC Affairs (CNYCA) is hiring a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join its Economic and Fiscal Policy unit. The Economic and Fiscal Policy unit focuses on local and state economic and budget policies that improve the lives of New York City’s low- and moderate-income communities. The unit analyzes the city and state labor market and a wide range of policies – from minimum wage to unemployment insurance to workforce and economic development to the gig economy – that impact the city’s workforce. Our work combines economic analysis with actionable policy responses to address structural issues undergirding racial and economic disparities.
We seek candidates who have experience working with large data sets (such as the ACS and CPS microdata). Candidates should be analytic and demonstrate skills in designing and implementing quantitative research methods.
We also seek candidates who want to use their quantitative research skills for the public good. Therefore, candidates should also have the ability to translate their research findings into writing or presentations accessible to a wide range of audiences. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with advocacy organizations, public officials and agency staff.
