Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled HERs rater to join our dynamic team.

·       The applicant will be responsible for the New Jersey Clean Energy New Construction Program(FY25 RNC Program Guide v1.pdf) while some familiarity is preferred, it is not required.

·       Residence in New Jersey is strongly preferred.

·       Applicants must have a clean valid driver’s license and own automobile.

·       The applicant must satisfy the New Jersey New Construction HERS rater requirements to apply for related new construction incentives. 

·       Perform energy assessments using RESNET HERS rating standards.

·       Operate test equipment including blower doors, thermal imaging cameras, CO meters, duct blasters, and other diagnostic tools.

·       Provide clear explanations of diagnostic findings to homeowners and building owners.

·       Recommend energy efficiency and environmental quality improvements based on assessment results.

·       Work independently and manage multiple assessments with limited supervision.

·       Ensure accurate documentation of energy audits and recommendations.

·       Utilize computer software for data analysis and reporting.

·       Assess HVAC systems for energy performance.

·       Work in various environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces.

Qualifications & Skills:

RESNET HERS Rater Certification is required.
Experience with diagnostic equipment (blower doors, thermal imaging, CO meters, duct blasters, etc.).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and energy efficiency technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic math skills for data analysis.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in small spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.).
