Our office is partially open due to the pandemic. Staff and interns are working remotely and may schedule time to work in the office.

* College Graduate in Planning, Environmental Studies, Sustainability or Geography

* Strong Research and Writing Skills

* Excel, Word and PowerPoint Expertise

* Skilled in Data Analysis and Interpretation

* Experience with ArcGIS and/or Canva a plus

Full Job Description:

Interns working at The Land Conservancy of New Jersey are immediately engaged in hands-on planning work developing detailed plans covering topics including land preservation, farmland viability, environmental justice, and sustainable stewardship of our public lands.

From helping towns and counties preserve land for open space and farmland, to working with local municipalities to deal with the impacts of severe storms, an internship at The Land Conservancy o presents the chance to make a difference. Our multidisciplinary team addresses local and state issues from a unique perspective, which enables us to provide comprehensive solutions to tackle the open space challenges facing our communities today.

Our Planning Team is at the forefront of land conservation planning in the state. In working with our public sector partners, our recommendations are framed in a visually compelling way that is accessible to government leaders and understandable by the lay person.

We have completed 170 land conservation plans and preserved over 28,600 acres of land for recreation, agriculture, and open space. The Land Conservancy’s Planning Team is seeking a graduate-level, full-time or part-time intern to work with us. Our interns are exposed to a wide range of exciting projects involving planning and policy, land management, and sustainable design.
