Overview

The Township of Wayne is looking to hire a Senior Planning Coordinator in the Department of Planning and Zoning to handle higher level administrative work for the Planning Department under the direction of the Township Planner. Coordinates the processing of land use applications to the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment to ensure an orderly, predictable, and timely process from submission of application to final approval or denial.  Qualified applicants must be knowledgeable in procedures and general criteria of planning and have or be able to obtain Board Secretary certificate. Strong communication and management skills are required, including the ability to coordinate department’s workload and disseminate to clerical staff for processing, and communicate effectively with other Township departments, applicants, and general public. Ability to work independently in a busy environment is critical. Aptitude with Microsoft Office, and comfort in learning new software is required.
