Dover is a vibrant compact town located in Morris County, New Jersey, known for its rich history, diverse community, and commitment to progress. We’re seeking an enthusiastic college student to join our team and contribute to the town’s ongoing development and gain real world experience.

Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated college intern to assist various departments within the Dover from land use, planning and economic development to zoning. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in local government operations and make a positive impact on our community.

Responsibilities
Assist in research and data analysis for ongoing town projects
Support administrative tasks across different land use related departments
Help organize and coordinate community events and outreach
Participate in various meetings and take notes
Collaborate with staff on policy research, development & amendments to ordinances
Assist with grant applications, reviews and submissions
Assist with land use applications and redevelopment initiatives

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Major in Redevelopment Studies, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Interest in local government and community development

Details
Duration: minimum a semester, ideally for the year if not longer.
Hours: (flexible schedule)
Location: Dover Town Hall Annex, with potential for some remote work
Compensation: This is a paid internship (rate to be discussed during interview)
