Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented part-time research analyst to join the team studying the social determinants of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and diagnosis disparities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to research using rich, longitudinal datasets, including the Reasons for Geographic and Racial differences in Storke (REGARDS) Study or the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), and their linked administrative records from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and prepare large-scale datasets: extract, clean, code, label, and format variables.
· Write and maintain clean, reproducible code for data analysis in Stata (preferred), SAS or R.
· Conduct statistical analyses, including longitudinal and survival modeling.
· Contribute to documentation to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
· Support manuscript writing and preparation of results for conferences and publications.
Desired Qualifications:
· Strong proficiency in Stata, SAS, or R and experience with advanced statistical methods (e.g., longitudinal and survival analysis).
· Prior work with REGARDS, HRS or similar population-based data; prior exposure to claims data is a plus.
· Interest in social epidemiology, social policy, and the social determinants of health.
· Familiarity with quasi-experimental methods is preferred.
· Experience working on Enclave environment (with shared computing clusters) is a plus.
Position Details:
· Time commitment: Minimum 15 hours per week
· Start date: October 1st or earliest possible. The position will last through the end of the Spring semester (2026), with the possibility of extending 2026 Summer.
· You will work primarily with Dr. Min Hee Kim, a core faculty at the Center for Health Services Research, Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research, alongside a cross-disciplinary team of collaborators.
